March 5, 2019 CMS announced new guidelines for calculating 5-star ratings. We made two tools that aid providers, provider owners, and hospitals in seeing how these changes will affect CMS SNF 5-Star ratings for buildings they care about.

The Rating changes & outcomes page summarizes the changes and shows their effect on the national level. It includes specific breakdowns of how the scores are calculated and whats changed with the new guidelines.

The Rating estimate tool calculates our estimate of the stars a provider will receive once the changes are implemented. It first shows you the estimate for your state, then you can search for and see providers of interest.

Plain Proof for a time partnered with Andrea McBeth, ND of Flora Medicine to develop a wellness series for improving underlying health issues that affect residents in long-term care settings. Her research and online resources can be used to support medical staff. It can also be given to concerned family members that want to help their relatives with alternative tools.
